Welcome to my page! I am originally from Huron, SD. I graduated from Huron High School. A year after graduating high school, I attended Dakota State University. I then transferred to Dakota Wesleyan. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Dakota Wesleyan University. I also acquired a coaching minor for both basketball and volleyball. In 2011, I graduated from Southwest Minnesota State University with a Master's Degree in Educational Learning and Leadership. I currently coach for the Mitchell Kernels High School Volleyball team and the Mitchell Kernels Girls' Basketball Team.
I had the honor of teaching third grade at Longfellow for nine years and then four years in fifth grade. I made the transfer to LBW and I have been teaching here for two years. 15 years total! That just seems crazy!
My classroom environment is top-notch. We work hard, play hard, and celebrate differences with a welcoming atmosphere. I have flexible seating options for every learner to feel comfortable. I stress the importance of manners and good choices. I establish expectations that are clear and concise. I facilitate and motivate learning at the highest degree. I teach to individual learning styles and hold myself accountable for student growth. Most importantly, I have so much fun with my group. Get ready for an exciting year!
A little bit about my personal life. I am the proud owner of one pug and one olde English bulldog. My female pug is named Jersey. Hank is my bulldog. You will hear a lot about their journeys. In my spare time I enjoy shooting darts (I am a state champion-yay!), shopping, or watching movies. I also love to go on pinterest for hours and look up ideas for things. My favorite thing to do is watch sports of any kind . I am sports nut! GO VIKINGS! I love chicken, kit kats, and beef jerky. Another interesting fact is that my brother, Eric, is the Mitchell School District Strength and Conditioning Coach and a football coach--it is pretty neat that I get to work with my brother. I am a very proud sister.
I have a wonderful fiance' named Justin, and he has three beautiful children-Kaden, Mylee and Ryker. We enjoy doing many activities with our little family. Kaden plays football for the Kernels, Mylee enjoys playing volleyball and watching anime, and Ryker loves rubix cubes and building things. We love movie and popcorn night together. I truly am blessed!
Thank you for taking time to get to know me. I am excited to learn about all of you too!
